Administrative building of the XIXcentury/Tourism and information department of the Kremenets-Pochaiv Reserve

A monument of architecture of local importance (security number 2134 M).

The administrative building was built in the late XIX – early XX century, and was a typical building of the downtown architecture of that time. A two-storey rectangular brick building, the facade of which has been reconstructed several times. The characteristic features of the building were decorative elements added to its facade at the beginning of the twentieth century: moulding, figured forged balcony fences, framing around windows. Initially, the entrance to the building was made in the form of an arch, but was subsequently rebuilt.

At one time, the house was used for a dual purpose: the ground floor as a commercial and entertainment, with a pharmacy warehouse, a billiard room, a children’s store and a coffee shop; the first floor was used as a residential building. On August 27, 1940, the premises of the building were nationalized, partially reconstructed and transferred to use for the administrative needs of the town.

The building is noted for its multifunctionality and nowadays houses various shops and offices. One of these is the Tourist Information Department of the Kremenets-Pochaiv Reserve, which serves as a tourist information center in  Kremenets and works in a single complex of educational, scientific, tourist information, advertising, repair and restoration activities of the Reserve.
